So, in 3 weeks we will be in Las Vegas. Holy cow — I am just so excited. After a week in Vegas for WPPI (photography industry convention), Dave and I are taking the kids for a 3 week holiday. We have been wanting to do this trip for years, and I can’t quite believe it’s actually become a reality. I am most looking forward to New York, driving through the desert area around Vegas to reach Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park, and of course, taking the kids to Disneyland. And, I am quietly excited about the plane trip?? Not sure why, perhaps the enforced rest
I will have to stop thinking about it because I could quite possibly BURST with butterflies and happiness.
And now a beautiful family who modelled for the Sydney Scoop workshop. I love mummy Simone. She has been to two of my workshops, is now a darling friend and is just sooo hilarious. Here she is with her hubby and scrumpy girls. xox

I photographed this beautiful family back when little miss was a bubby. Now a little bit older but still just as gorgeous, here are some updated photographs. They have ordered this Canvas Cluster which will look simply amazing!

After a marathon four days of workshops, two in Melbourne and two in Sydney, I treated myself to a morning of mooching around the Rocks in Sydney. I remembered so clearly the time my mum had brought me and my brothers and sister here for a holiday. We stayed in a caravan out of the city (a fancy caravan!) and we caught the train into Circular Quay and traipsed all through the Rocks — me gathering brochures from every single thing we passed. At the end of the day I lay on the top bunk in the caravan and poured through my catalogues. I think my mum even let me carry a handbag, to store all my papers. That was a great day.
As an adult, I lived in Sydney for over 10 years (all of my 20′s) and memories flooded back as I passed all the bars I had worked as a DJ. Looked like nothing had changed, except the music I suppose
I loved every second of this day. I highly recommend grabbing your camera and taking a walk around your old haunts. It was blissful.
Just me and my 50mm lens.

Love.

At least once a year we take the 10hr drive north to holiday with my mum and Tony, where they retired on the South Coast of NSW. The kids love it. We love it. Everything moves so much slower — time, people, cars — the kids even sleep in for no apparent reason. There is just something in the air that makes it feel like a true break. New Years Day was over 40 degrees, so after a very early morning beach swim we set up the paddling pool on the back porch to cool off.

Here is the beach that we always swim at. Mum and Tony’s fave. They come here every other day, set up their chairs under the trees (where I have taken the photo from) and do their Suduko books. When the weather was good, we did the same (minus the Suduko).

And sometimes the ice-cream van turns up. Have you seen a cuter little butt?

And after dinner, just before the storm began…

Every Summer holidays, a carnival comes to town for the month, and we love that too. Will with Uncle Mike.

From the top of the ferris wheel.

Feeling so refreshed from the break and ready to tackle 2011 head-on. So fortunate and blessed and grateful and ready. Ready for you 2011. Let’s go!
