Beautiful age, beautiful boy, beautiful mummy, and great big scrummy cheeks. Just a small sample from this fab session.

A little bit of baby loving…

My Imogen, my bubby-boo, or as she refers to herself, “baby dumpty“…

This gorgeous girl is a good friend of mine. When she is not being a busy mum of three, she appears in commercials and catalogues. Will was very excited when he saw her in the Big W brochure These are some of her updated folio shots – loving them!

This Mum and Dad live passionately. Their dreams include living on the outskirts of Melbourne so their little boy can call this his back garden!

I am just loving the new FujiFilm Instax (I believe at this stage can only be purchased through Ebay in Australia). It is nothing but pure FUN!
This is us. Kinda sad and kinda funny that these two photos were taken on different days and what’ya know — we’re wearing the same clothes…

My brother Matt and his girlfriend Louise. They left for Vegas the next morning.

This is brother Mike looking very cheerified.

And the girlies.

Big post – I adored this session so much. A family in love, a gorge colour scheme, an inviting home, a happy smile…

Beautiful age, beautiful boy…

I LOVE the leafy wall – YUM! If you have a leafy wall, please call and have yourself photographed with it asap!

A sweet little guy from a session a few months ago now. Loving the serious chat with Dad!

For photographers: I have received a few emails lately asking what lenses I use so thought I would include my kit here (all lenses are Canon).
Canon 5D MKII
50mm 1.2L (indoors, babies, toddlers)
24-70mm 2.8L (groups, fast moving toddlers and kids)
100mm 2.8 macro (baby and toddler details)
135mm 2.0L (single portraits older kids and adults)
85mm 1.8 (not often used but a lovely lens, might pull it out this week)
On the day Jasmine was born, the photographic equipment in our possession was a Hi-8 video recorder, a crumby point and shoot, and my mother-in-law’s Canon SLR that I didn’t really know how to use (both film, pre-digital).
Four hours into her short life, we had run the battery down on the video, photographed through rolls of film, but we needed more. We needed instant gratification. I said to Dave, in my post c-section drug-induced haze, and brand new mum euphoria, “I think we need a Polaroid camera. We really need to see photos of her now… don’t you think????” Dave was straight up to the local chemist and returned with Polaroid in hand. We snapped away like crazy in that hospital, and the photos are so hilarious. Unfortunately I cannot show them here in case I ever need to become prime minister.
So, when I came across FujiFilm Instax on a few American sites, I was very excited. My Ebay order couldn’t go through quick enough and it arrived last week. Our “digital” children thought it was so weird and amazing to see the little white sheet eject and then wait patiently for a picture to develop. And in our age of immediacy, we have heard Jaz groaning, “why is it taking so long to see the picture?” That would be a WHOLE 30 seconds…
Here is some of the fun we’ve had this week.
The one of Dave and I taken by Will. And me with Jaz, Will and Will’s mate Koaley, the Koala.

Shot A – this is Dave turning off the camera. And my brother on the tramp with the kids.

And some Will lovin’. My ever-faithful sidekick in the kitchen, wearing goggles while I chop onions.

Jasmine (8) is a prolific song and story writer, and this week came to me with a poem. She said, “I really wanted to make this a positive poem.” I love it. x
My teeth are not perfect,
my drawings not bad.
At least I am happy,
I’m happy, not sad.
Sometimes I am happy,
sometimes I am sad.
But I’m a good person,
good person, not bad.
