Jaz and Will’s birthday week is always mad and crazy. With birth dates 5 days apart there’s always a lot going on. Will had a footy party, with 16 friends (and someone was watching over us as we’ve had so much rain in Melbourne lately, and then voila, the day of his party was brilliantly sunny and about 19 degrees).
And our Jazzy turned 8 yesterday. She had a cooking party which was absolutely fantastic, I cannot recommend Cooking For Kids in Beaumaris highly enough. It was so expertly organised and the quality of the food the girls produced was amazing. Jasmine loves all things music and will always be found either singing, humming or writing a new song. She is my cuddley darling and I can’t believe it was 8 years ago that this angel gave me a 24hr labour…  Here is a snapshot of her 7th year.
And I must show you Dave’s handy work with Will’s footy cake – a Collingwood football jersey (I take no responsibility for the team they support…) How clever is that for an IT guy!!! I was in charge of Jasmine’s birthday cake and I’m afraid it was most certainly not worthy of a mention here. It tasted better than it looked!

Unfortunately my artistic side does not extend to cake decorating. Will’s request for his ‘family night’ birthday cake was a lemon cake — which I topped ever so stunningly with cream cheese icing and silver cachous (I know, I’m on fire!). For his footy party this weekend Dave has put his hand up for the cake making (remembering his cool effort for my birthday). There has been talk of football shapes, footy jersey shapes, a football field, the MCG… we’ll see what he comes up with.

My little boy treasure is turning 6 tomorrow so here are some snippets from his 5th year. Jammed between two intense sisters, he is my easy-going, happy wee soul. Imogen is slightly confused about all the birthday excitement and has been calling out, “hooray Imi’s birthday!” Present opening should be interesting…
He’s my fella, my buddy – tomorrow’s going to be an awesome day!
