Some fun

The beautiful and happy Pru of Little Bird Photography needed new profile shots for some upcoming media pieces.  She wanted the images to visually show the essence of her personality – so with Pru’s concept, the styling of Prue of Gigi & Lulu, the assistance of Kelly of Little Bubble and Tree and the photography by moi, this is what we came up with.  How fab are they?!!!

It was such a fun experience, and I think after this little adventure, Prue, Kelly and I are thinking we need some new profile shots of our own :)

Coffee

Dave and I are coffee lovers.  The day doesn’t really begin until we have a freshly made espresso in hand, from freshly ground beans, that have been freshly roasted.   It’s a small pleasure.

I made my latte this morning and noticed a heart had randomly formed on top (please note I am no aficionado when it comes to steaming milk and producing amazing patterns)!  I excitedly showed Jazzy and she said, “oh mum, take a photo and put it on your blog-thingy because you love all things that are about love.”   So… I did.   Happy Monday x

Bayside Family Photography

Identical twins!  You can imagine the fun I had processing this job – trying to tell the two apart.

Mum had just been on a work trip to Vietnam and brought back these hats.  She loved this hilarious photo – and so do I :)

Loving

Today I am loving… the library, pastry, hot black tea, my girlfriends, new magazines, green lights, a clean house, a helpful husband, a slow song, laughing, a squeeze around the leg by a small person and… lemons.  x

Melbourne Family Photography

I love it when grown siblings get together for a session, with a plan of giving the said photographs to their parents as a gift.  It is completely thoughtful — and also a good chance to update the old mottled back-drop studio photos that still take pride-of-place in mum’s “good room”.

These guys have put together a fantastic collage of images from their session for their parents’ anniversary.  And even though some very wet Melbourne weather was not being our friend we still managed to get fab shots like these.

Love

There is no denying that being a mother of 3 and running a business is busy, but it’s a good busy.  I really love being a mum, and I really love my photography.  But sometimes a little time-out is needed.

After my session today I just wandered.  Wandered around for hours with no real aim.  I poked through paper shops, clothes stores, homewares, $2 shops… then I drove along the bay watching the water (and the road)… then through a bookstore where I got lost for over an hour (oh, and bumped into Glenn Robbins – you know Kel, from Kath and Kim)… then I stopped for lunch.  Curled myself up in a booth with a soy moccha, roasted vegetable bagel with a side of fries (just needed them) and my brand new A4 notebook and brand new pen.  I do love new stationery so much, and I also love writing lists, and I particularly love writing lists with new stationery.  So there, on my comfortable lonesome, I watched the passers-by and scribbled furiously (but neatly) in my notebook, writing dreams and lists and goals and thoughts.  It was just heavenly.

And then I returned to my 3 little billy-lids so calm and inspired and happy.   Here are my delights with one of my purchases.

Iris and Snapdragon

Once the dreary rain of this morning passed, Imogen and I admired the flowers on our morning walk, and returned from the florist with these.  They make me happy.

Session this Saturday

*Update* Session filled – thank you!

Now on to this mega-cutie.  I promise her eyes have not been ridiculously photoshopped (not so into that) — they just really are that blue.  Her mum and I even toyed with the idea of desaturating them?  It must be hard being so gorgeous!  Baby Jessica was born with an arm difference but this does nothing to slow her down.  She is hitting all her milestones perfectly, and can go from her tummy to sitting at such lightening speed, the photo below is the closest I could get to her being on her tummy.  We had lots of fun trying though!

Children’s Photography Bayside

If you ask me, any time is the perfect time for a photograph.  Any age is the perfect age.  There are so many different milestones to celebrate in our children’s lives, we don’t need to look hard to find an excuse for a photo.  For this little sweetheart, she had not long started school, had just become a big sister, and mum wanted to capture her before she lost her first tooth.  Perfect.

Melbourne Baby Photography

Two things are very clear to me.  I daydream a lot.  And babies that are 5 months old are incredibly gorgeous.  Ethan was a super-cute muffiny chomper for his session.  I have a lot to show here, because I do not want to deprive you of his gorgeousness.
