It seems like an eon ago that I was staying at the Encantado Resort in Santa Fe for Blend. It truly was an amazing experience – my first time in the States and my first time away from the kids (which was horrendous!). I was the opposite of brave – big time. However, I managed to stop the waterworks long enough to absorb and enjoy everything being taught by these amazing photographers – Jose Villa, Jesh de Rox and The Image is Found.
And, can I just say, Encantado Resort – hello!!!! Luxury. This is the view from my room (or suite, as I will fondly refer to it). It even had its own fireplace – woo hoo! This shot was taken just after sunset.
And these some time in the middle of the day.
Ashley and Jeremy Parsons modelled for us – they are the sweetest couple and awesome photographers. So in love!
And this one taken from Becker’s blog. Our ‘team’ for three days – here with Jose.
We need a model! A 5-9 month old baby – boy or girl – to model for a commercial project. The session itself will be very easy (no hard labour for baby!) and will only take an hour. You will receive an 11×16″ wall portrait (of your choice) to thank you for your assistance.
If you have a baby of this age, and would like more information, please email me your details. I know there is a bub out there – can’t wait to hear from you! x
We are heading to the casino tonight for dinner and some blackjack to celebrate my mum’s 60th birthday. My dad used to say, ”scared money never wins.” So with that thought in mind, I will be entering Crown Casino with $50 that I will happily part with. I want them to have it – I don’t need it. Let’s hope this trickery works. [update: It didn't.]
My dad left me with a few pearls of wisdom before he passed away. My favourite — “the anticipation is 90% of the journey.” He also said, “owning a car will keep you poor.” I think he was just trying to keep me off the road!
And a post without a photo won’t do – so here’s one of the glorious Imogen.
Sisterly love… and I do believe in this case, it is genuine!
I spent a few hours today watching the judging for the AIPP VPPY (Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year) Awards. A panel of five, accomplished and highly-awarded photographers, score print after print. Hour after hour. Occasionally giving commentary and feedback on the prints. Watching this process is my idea of a good time! Some may say I need to get out more, however it is a fantastic exercise for any photographer — whether you have entered the awards or not. I can’t wait for the APPA’s in Sydney in June!
I had to share this video. I promise it will leave you cheering, happy… and puffed. These girls are incredible – their energy, ability and determination at such a young age.
We all have that energy to achieve, and be amazing – no matter how big or small the goal. How will you be amazing today?
Yep, he’s a scrumper. And his folks aren’t bad either I asked them a few questions to accompany this post.
1. Where did you honeymoon? Lake Como (still to happen!) [Jealous!]
2. Your favourite way to spend a Friday night? Take away Thai and watching TV
3. If Felix could talk, how would he describe his parents in three words? Very, very funny! [woo - and I would say generous too, as no doubt he'll be getting a bonus trip to Lake Como!]
School holiday time for Victoria – woo hoo. Love having my little people with me all day! (Let’s talk in two weeks) Before I take Jaz and Will out for a bike ride on this glorious Sunday, here is a preview from last week.
Happiness… oh yeah. This beautiful family made the most of their twilight photo session and came with a bottle of champers. Yee-haaa! Thank you for sharing new friends :) And Happy Birthday Nick!
This beautiful lady is my grandma, and she passed away this week.
I will remember her for so many things: teaching me to spell abracadabra and supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (hope I got those right), scoring my sister and I in dancing competitions, her apple pie, her love of the water, diving for her teeth when they fell out at the public pool, the many letters that she has written me (and I’ve kept every one), her excitement each time I told her I was pregnant, her laughter when she heard a funny story about the kids…
