Jazzy at the fair

I keep coming back to this portrait of Jaz taken at a fair in January.  She was mesmorized by all the rides around her – a daredevil, she is not.  So just a nice quiet bounce on the jumping castle.

For the photogs: taken with my trusty 24-70mm lens, ISO 200, f3.2, 1/100.  Taken at 8pm – not bad for 200 ISO!

Happy Birthday to me

‘Twas my birthday yesterday (plodding through my 30’s too quickly).  And how is this for a cake!  Made by my dear husband, it is a layered crepe cake.  I know – how clever is that!!  It tastes even better today.  Mmmmm.

Bushfires

I cannot post without mentioning the shocking bushfire devastation throughout Victoria this week.  Such heartbreaking news for families that have lost loved ones, and a long road ahead for those with so much to rebuild.  We live in a tremendous community, that band together to support everyone impacted by this tragedy.  NB: my donation will be going through Myer (Victorian Stores), who are matching dollar-for-dollar on all donations!  http://www.salvationarmy.org.au/scripts/nc.dll?SALV/NEWSRELESE/1001/pc=PC_62630.html

Some recent family love…  and my deepest sympathies for everyone impacted by this disaster.  x

Jaz

We backed the car up to the beach tonight, ate pizza, watched the clouds roll in, played chase (have you played that lately? what a crack up.  I cannot be chased without laughing – just try it!)

Here are some of my eldest, Jazzy B, as we call her.

Things she loves: drawing, reading, singing, Miley Cyrus, trampoline, school, cuddling, staying up late, getting up early, ice in her water, socks with no seams, undies with no tags, swimming, Famous Five, writing me notes, sticking these notes under my nose while I’m on the phone, special occasions, making cards for family members relating to the special occasions, driving at night, staying at home, and… food.

I love her happiness in these.  My first baby… melt.

Things that make you go

“… maybe I could have another.”  More mega-cute babe action.  Great age – just so gorgeous.

I’m not having any more… but you know, they’re just so cute, and round, and cuddly, and smiley, and cheeky.  You can kiss their cheeks forever, and their giggle is so sweet.  But I now know, they grow.  They do grow.  And then they tell you that your hands look old, they can see your grey hairs, they won’t clean their room or their teeth, I don’t feel like a bath, I don’t like chicken (since when?), he’s on my side of the couch…

Anyhoo, don’t want to put you off if you’re still not done! :)   They are adorable, and this sweetheart is no exception.

How great are her expressions?!  Love it.

And, can you believe that a baby could even pull this face, let alone have it captured on camera.

For the photogs… these were all taken in the parent’s bedroom.  Brightest room in the house and is often a great room for babies of this age.  You can get them on their tummies and position yourself quite comfortabley on the floor.  Great angle and perspective.

More from the ‘Just Because’ session

I really loved this shoot so much.  How wonderful to have these to look back on when you’re 80 yrs and sitting on your front porch, sipping tea and remembering when you were young.  There are so many reasons why these sessions are a great idea.  We can even include it as part of a family session.
